Description

Alloy 5083, an alloy comprising of aluminium and magnesium, possess a wide range of strength, good forming and welding characteristics, and high resistance to corrosion. It is known for its exceptional performance in extreme environments. It is highly resistant to attack by both seawater and industrial chemical environments.

Machinability

Alloy 5083 retains exceptional strength after welding. It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but is not recommended for use in temperatures in excess of 65°C.
